Hakimi has been in the Ligue 1 since joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 and he has already won five league crowns, two French Cup titles and three Trophee des Champions as well, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest African footballers in the history of the league.

Lamine Camara (€55 million)

Next on this list is Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara, who is valued at €55 million and is joint-sixth, alongside Yankuba Minteh and Ismael Saibari, in the most valuable African footballers in the world.

The 22-year-old joined AS Monaco from Metz in 2024 and has already developed into one of the best midfielders in the French league.

Camara was also very close to a move to Premier League side Chelsea during the summer, although talks broke down in the final hours of the window and saw him remain in France.

French-born striker Amine Gouiri is ranked third on this list with a market value of €30 million, which also places him as the third most valuable Algerian footballer in the world, behind Bayer Leverkusen’s Ibrahim Maza (€50 million) and Manchester City’s Rayan Ait-Nouri (€35 million).

Gouiri has played all his career in the Ligue 1, starting out at Lyon, before also playing for the likes of Nice and Rennes.

The 26-year-old moved to Marseille in 2025 and has enjoyed an impressive stint at Les Phoceens, including scoring five goals and providing two assists in Ligue 1 this season.

Samir El Mourabet (€22 million)

Moroccan midfielder Samir El Mourabet has a market value of €22 million and is the fourth most valuable African footballer in the French league.

The French-born midfielder rose through the Strasbourg academy, before making his debut for the first team in 2024.
