Moses Usor is one of Nigeria’s most promising attacking talents and among the emerging forwards making a name for themselves in European football. Renowned for his explosive pace, direct dribbling, technical ability, and versatility across the attacking line, the left-footed forward has developed from a Nigerian academy prospect into an influential player for Austrian Bundesliga champions LASK.

Currently, Usor plays for Austrian Bundesliga side LASK, having joined the club from Czech giants Slavia Prague in January 2023. Initially arriving on loan, the Nigerian forward impressed sufficiently for LASK to exercise their purchase option in November 2023. He subsequently signed a long-term contract running until June 30, 2028, establishing himself as one of the club’s important attacking players.

At international level, Usor represents Nigeria after making his senior debut for the Super Eagles in September 2026. He announced himself in spectacular fashion, scoring the winning goal in a 2-1 comeback victory over Madagascar in a 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo. As of September 29, 2026, he had earned two senior caps and scored one international goal, giving him an impressive start to his international career.

Career

Moses Usor’s professional journey is a story of determination and steady development, taking him from Nigerian grassroots football to becoming one of the most exciting attacking players in the Austrian Bundesliga.

  • 36 Lion FC & Slavia Prague (2008–2023): Usor began his football development at Nigerian academy 36 Lion FC, where his performances attracted attention from European scouts. He subsequently moved to Czech Republic side Slavia Prague in 2022, initially featuring for the club’s reserve team. His impressive performances helped him progress into the senior squad, where he scored four goals in 16 league appearances. He also experienced success in Czech football, winning the Czech Cup during the 2022/23 campaign.

  • LASK Loan (2023): In January 2023, LASK secured Usor on a loan deal from Slavia Prague. The forward adapted quickly to Austrian football, demonstrating his attacking versatility and ability to influence matches in the final third. His performances earned him an increasingly important role, and he scored his first European goal for LASK against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the UEFA Europa League in October 2023.

  • LASK Permanent Move (2023–Present): On November 17, 2023, LASK announced that they had exercised their purchase option and signed Usor to a permanent contract until 2028. He continued developing over the following seasons, gradually becoming one of the club’s most productive attacking players. His breakthrough arrived during the 2025/26 campaign, when he scored 13 Austrian Bundesliga goals and provided five assists in 30 league appearances. Across 35 competitive matches, he registered 15 goals and five assists.

Accolades & highlights

Usor enters the 2026/27 season as one of Nigeria’s most exciting young attacking players and an increasingly important figure at Austrian champions LASK.

His combination of acceleration, close control, direct running, and ability to operate across the frontline has made him a dangerous opponent for defenders. Standing at 1.81 metres, he is a left-footed attacker who can play as a centre-forward or operate from either wing, providing his manager with valuable tactical flexibility.

One of the defining achievements of his club career came during the 2025/26 season, when he helped LASK win the Austrian Bundesliga title and Austrian Cup. He also played a prominent role in the cup final against SCR Altach on May 1, 2026, scoring LASK’s equaliser in a dramatic 4-2 victory after extra time. His 15 goals and five assists across 35 competitive appearances made it the most productive season of his professional career to that point.

His international breakthrough provided another major milestone in September 2026. After missing an earlier opportunity to represent Nigeria at the 2026 Unity Cup because of injury, Usor received his first senior call-up for the September Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. He made an immediate impact against Madagascar, coming off the bench to score a memorable individual goal in Nigeria’s 2-1 victory. The forward subsequently featured against Guinea-Bissau in his second international appearance.

During the opening months of the 2026/27 campaign, Usor continued contributing to LASK’s attack, recording two Austrian Bundesliga goals and three assists in the club’s first 10 league appearances. He also provided an assist in LASK’s 4-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava on November 3, 2026. However, he was substituted in the 75th minute with an apparent injury, and its severity had not been confirmed as of November 5.

For Nigeria, Usor represents an exciting addition to the next generation of Super Eagles attacking talent. His successful transition into European football, impressive goalscoring development, and match-winning international debut have strengthened expectations that he could become an important figure for the national team in future Africa Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup qualification campaigns.
